This classic kid competition game show from the 80s came back on Nickelodeon. Bringing this show back to life with the right amount of nostalgia was not half as fun as watching the kids walk onto the stage for the first time.
With kids running and jumping at attacking obstacles, we had to have follow spots with ground control options ready to track them as they duck and wove through spaces. To accentuate the scene, we used lights that moved, flashed and added to the speed of the moment. Top it off with a contestant game show studio, and we had the workings of a really bold set.
Solution
The intent was to build a “stadium” feel on a set that wasn’t an actual stadium. We scheduled a light drop and lift reveal to focus the eyes on the center and give the impression of a much larger venue.
